Analytical Chemistry for Technicians, 2nd Edition includes one section specific to atomic absorption. The text presents AA in a manner aimed at those who are being trained to become chemical technicians.  The emphasis is on practical matters, but most topics are covered including basic theory, instrument design, data treatment and troubleshooting.  Also included are laboratory activities, which can be used to illustrate these concepts and homework exercises designed to facilitate student learning.  An instructors manual is also available which provides answers to questions in the text as well as suggested exam questions.

General information from the publisher's web page:

The Second Edition of Analytical Chemistry for Technicians provides the "nuts and bolts" of analytical chemistry and focuses on the practical aspects for training a technician-level laboratory worker. This edition presents new and expanded chapters, innumerable questions and problems, and modified experiments that present a fresh and challenging approach. Some of the topics that have been expanded include chemical equilibrium, chromatography, Kjeldahl method, and molarity and moles where EDTA and water hardness calculations are concerned. New discussions of the Ag/AgCl and combination pH electrodes have been added, while the discussion of ion-selective electrodes has been expanded. The chapter introducing instrumental analysis and computers now includes discussions of "y = mx + b" and the method of least squares. The book also includes discussions of FTIR, topics of NMR, and mass spectrometry, which are found in the new infrared spectrometry chapter.

Contents: Introduction to Chemical Analysis. Sampling and Sample Preparations. Statistics in Chemical Analysis. Chemical Equilibrium. Introduction to Titrimetric Analysis. Acid-Base Titrations and Calculations. Complexometric Titrations and Calculations. Oxidation-Reduction and Other Titrations. Analysis with Instruments and Computers. Fundamentals of Light and Light Absorption. UV-VIS Spectrophotometry. Infrared Spectrometry. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and Mass Spectrometry. Atomic Spectroscopy. Analytical Separations. Gas Chromatography. High Performance Liquid Chromatography. Electroanalytical Methods. Applications Summary. Appendices.

Specific comments: Fairly complete discussion of most important topics related to AA measurements. No discussion of background correction methodology. Good experiments, particularly dealing with verifying optimum instrument parameters for flame AA.
