She thinks about reducing the exhaust flow rate by temporarily blocking the exhaust between the hood exhaust port and the flame heat shield by inserting a thin object, but all she can find is a piece of cardboard and she's afraid that might ignite. Instead, she decides to remove the flame shield and manually override the sensor switch that senses that the flame shield is in place. With the flame shield off, the exhaust around the flame gases should be reduced and the flame should light. She holds the flame shield sensor switch down while trying to ignite the flame, but now the flame igniter doesn't even work and the computer tells her "flame sensed" even though there is no flame! So the instrument won't try to ignite the flame when it senses that there is a flame already lit. What now?
