Use an AA method to analyze an element in a simple aqueous mixture, including dilution, calibration, analysis, and calculation of results and uncertainty
This competency requires the technician to perform all the steps involved in the use of AA instrumentation except for sampling and sample preparation. The mixture may be chosen such that chemical or spectral interferences are present and must be corrected. However, see Competency 7 for a more rigorous requirement that involves instrument maintenance as well as the complete analytical measurement process.
