Identify and describe characteristics of a variety of column types in terms of packing material and construction material, with emphasis on packed vs. capillary columns
The technician should know the fundamental differences between packed columns (low cost, easy to use, and larger sample sizes) and capillary columns (faster, better separations, more universally applicable to different anlaytes).
